The World Cup Winning Moments

On 2nd of April 2011 team INDIA created history by defeating Srilanka in the Final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in Mumbai and clinching the World Cup after 28 years when Kapil Dev lead Indian Team won the Cup in England on 25th June 1983.

With this Win India became the first ever host Nation to win the World Cup, first wicket keeper captain to lift the World Cup trophy, Sachin Tendulkar's elusive dream of winning the world cup (which was termed as his last one) came true at his home town Mumbai, where he started playing cricket during his childhood.


India chased down a target of 275 set by Srilanka to win the World Cup. The highest total chased in a world cup final by any team resemblance of the strong batting line up of India.
